Jenoptik Laser, Optik, Systeme GmbH has unveiled the ProgRes CT3 digital microscope camera, which provides subtle color differentiation and allows for the rapid and precise setting of specimen and microscope. The device incorporates a 1/2-in. 3.15-megapixel color CMOS sensor with an active area of 6.55 × 4.92 mm, offering 2048 × 1536-pixel resolution. It has a 58-dB dynamic range (measured at 10-ms exposure) and a maximum rate of 35 fps (682 × 512 image size). Configured with standard interfaces, such as C-mount and IEEE 1394a FireWire, it operates with the ProgRes image acquisition software. It is suitable for bright-field and reflective light microscopy as well as for other contrast methods.
