A digital 1/2-in. progressive-scan CCD camera has been unveiled by
JAI Inc. Incorporating the Mini Camera Link interface standard, the CM-140 MCL is a monochrome camera with 1380 × 1040 active 4.65-μm square pixels. It achieves 31 fps with full resolution in continuous operation, and 30 fps with external trigger at full resolution. In partial scan, it runs at 74 fps, and with vertical binning, at 48 fps. Shutter speed using pulse width control is from 32 μs to 2 s, and programmable exposure is from 64 μs to 40 ms. Signal-to-noise ratio is >50 dB, operating temperature is from –5 to 45 °C, and video output is 8 or 10 bits.
