Alloptic Inc. of Livermore, Calif., and Sofab Industries of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, have formed a partnership to provide optical communications access equipment for security applications. Gigabit Ethernet passive optical networks from the California company will be used for security purposes in the Middle East and throughout Asia. The Saudi company specializes in security for air- and seaports, for border crossings and for industrial and governmental complexes.
