Carl Zeiss SMT Inc. of Oberkochen, Germany, has moved its American headquarters from Thornwood, N.Y., to Peabody, Mass. The facility covers 53,000 sq ft and houses an application development and system demonstration lab as well as a manufacturing plant. Sales and service of the company’s nanoscale imaging, structuring and analysis products also will take place at the headquarters. The move accompanies the operational integration of the Peabody-based Alis Corp., a developer of helium-ion microscopy that Carl Zeiss SMT bought out in 2006.
