Agilent Technologies Inc. has introduced the Magnetic AC (MAC) Mode III, an atomic force microscopy controller. To enhance the resonance peak, it has three user-configurable lock-in amplifiers, a wide operating frequency range up to 6 MHz and a built-in Q control. It allows one-pass multichannel detection for Kelvin and electric force microscopy. A servo-on-height cantilever facilitates simultaneous topography and surface potential measurements. The controller can operate simultaneously with environmental, temperature and electrochemical controls, and with controlled fluid exchange. It can function also in acoustic AC mode.
