Lasag AG has announced the DQS 200 series diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers for microdrilling and ablation of metals and ceramic materials. The DQS 200 MD5 is a 40-W nanosecond short-pulse laser that performs helical and percussion drilling and ablation. It drills holes with diameters from 0.02 to 0.40 mm and depths of >1 mm with tolerances of a few microns. Pulse-to-pulse stability is <±1%. The laser supply and control are supplied in a compact housing.
