Two 1.25-MHz white LED drivers have been released by Vishay Intertechnology Inc. The SiP12510 and SiP12511 have an input voltage range of 2.5 to 6.0 V, with output voltage of up to 17 V for the former and 28 V for the latter. Typical efficiency for both is 90%. They support linear and pulse width modulation techniques for regulating the LED string current, and they implement a feedback voltage of 0.1 V and a tight switching frequency for improved conversion efficiency across the operating temperature range from –40 to 85 °C. They feature overvoltage protection, and a thermal shutdown block turns off the device when the internal temperature exceeds the 165 °C threshold.
