The HPD1110 series 1064-nm CW laser diodes have been unveiled by Intense Ltd. Based on proprietary and patented asymmetric waveguide technology, the devices operate at 1 W and can be configured for short-pulse mode. Operating and threshold currents are 1.3 and 0.3 A, respectively. Spectral width is 2.5 nm, slope efficiency is 1 W/A, operating voltage is 2 V, and beam divergence is 40 × 10° FWHM. The broad-area multimode emitters have a source aperture of 100 μm and provide stable operation at room temperature. Higher powers and other wavelengths are available upon request. Applications include illumination, solid-state laser pumping and free-space communications.
