NanoJura has announced two surface profilers designed for high-precision measurement of micro- and nanosurface geometry and for 2- and 3-D surface texture. The NJ-Portable has a centered mechanical design and dual proprietary systems for correcting stage straightness and assuring stability. Light and compact, the instrument can measure a 25 × 25-mm area on cumbersome objects. An integrated microcamera visualizes the surface, while a chromatic confocal optical gauge completes high-precision measurements. The instrument has a 480-μm vertical range and 2-nm vertical resolution. The NJ-Optimal model has a measurement envelope of 100 × 100 × 50 mm, motorized X- and Y-axes, and a manual Z-axis. A wide variety of gauge configurations are available.
