A control unit for the PCS series perceptive industrial color sensors has been released by Silicann Technologies GmbH. With the PCS-Control Box, colors and parameters can be adjusted, enabling the sensors to run independently from personal computer software. For automation processes, a computer no longer is required. The unit communicates with the sensor via an RS-232 interface. The device features a three-line LCD with 16 characters in each line and six illuminated keys. Power is supplied through a cable. Although it can be used with all devices in the series, the unit is intended for operation primarily with the PSC-II color sensor.
