KLA-Tencor Corp. of San Jose, Calif., and ICOS Vision Systems Corp. NV of Leuven, Belgium, have entered into an agreement under which the California company will make an offer to acquire ICOS in a cash transaction valued at €36.50 per share. Subject to closing conditions, the transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter. Both suppliers for the semiconductor industry, KLA-Tencor manufactures inspection and metrology systems, and ICOS, packaging and interconnect inspection solutions as well as products for the inspection of photovoltaic solar technologies and LED lighting.
