In Germany, ersol Thin Film GmbH, a subsidiary of ersol Solar Energy AG, based in Erfurt, and Schott Solar GmbH of Alzenau have signed an agreement to jointly develop micromorphous technology for thin-film solar cells. They will combine their research-and-development resources to expedite the process of bringing new products to market. Ersol produces silicon-based photovoltaic products, and Schott Solar manufactures thin-film technologies, and crystalline silicon wafers, cells and modules.
