In Columbus, Ohio, Battelle has acquired the intellectual property and other assets of Optimer Photonics Inc., including several US and international patents and patents pending. The portfolio includes optical and electro-optic polymer materials, and photonic approaches for millimeter-wave generation, modulation and detection. Battelle intends to pursue research and development in these areas, including potential applications in wireless data transmission, spectroscopy and standoff detection.
