SPECTRAL ENGINES

The Super Gamut series NIR spectral engines from
BaySpec Inc. perform real-time spectral data acquisition with millisecond response time. Designed for field use, the compact devices feature an athermal design for low power consumption and hermetic sealing for operation in harsh environments. They cover wavelength ranges from 800 to 2500 nm and operate over a –10 to 60 °C temperature range, and in 85% relative humidity environments. For input, they use a fiber optic connector or a slit optics arrangement based on user preference. The signal is spectrally dispersed with a volume phase grating, and the diffracted field is focused onto an InGaAs array detector. Control electronics read out the processed digital signal to extract required information. Raw and processed data are available to the host. The company’s Tint graphical user interface software is included.
