SensL has launched the SPMPlus, a large-area version of the company’s silicon photomultiplier detectors. The device’s 1.3 × 1.3-cm total active area is achieved with a transparent glass substrate and connector design that allows the array of individual silicon photomultiplier pixel signals to be summed as a single output. The instrument features <1-mm working distance between the source and detector surface, magnetic insensitivity and high tolerance to ambient light.
