For measuring the performance of thermal imagers, video systems, displays, visual systems, image intensifiers, fiber optic faceplates and microlens arrays, Optikos Corp. has introduced the PMC-600 photometric camera system. It characterizes the performance of these electro-optical systems by providing objective and repeatable simulation of the human visual response. It has a FireWire interface, an electronic shutter and a five-position motorized wheel filter mount. Minimum luminance is 0.003 cd/m² with a 10-s exposure time and an f/1.4 lens; maximum is 2.5 × 105 cd/m² with a 100-μs exposure time and an f/16 lens. The system has a 1392 × 1040-pixel CCD array and operates at a maximum of 10.2 fps. Integration time is from 80 μs to 10 s.
