Carl Zeiss MicroImaging Inc.’s Mirax Micro digital slide scanner combines a proprietary high-end microscope, a 100-W halogen source, an infinity contrast as well as a color-corrected beam path, a fully automated four-slide-capacity stage, a motorized Z-focus, a 1024 × 768-resolution progressive-scan CCD camera and a computer workstation to produce high-resolution digital slides. Customizable and scalable, the system features an optional 50-capacity slide loader with an integrated bar-code recognition function and the choice of 40× or 100× objectives.
