The TechSpec aspherized achromatic lenses from Edmund Optics Inc. are designed to bridge the gap between color-corrected achromats and spherical aberration-corrected aspheres, resulting in color-corrected aspheric components. Providing reduced spherical and chromatic aberration, the doublet lenses consist of two cemented elements that are matched for their color-correction ability and small rms spot size. The lenses have applications in fiber optic focusing or collimation, in image relay, in scanning and in high-numerical-aperture imaging.
