Manufacturer: Nufern
ACTIVE FIBERS

Nufern has expanded its line of NuPower active fibers with three new types: the erbium/ytterbium co-doped PM-EYDF-17/200, and the ytterbium-doped large-mode-area PLMA-YDF-10/125 and PLMA-YDF-25/400. All are polarization-maintaining double-clad fibers and are complemented by the availability of matched passive fibers for component and pigtail development. The 17/200 version operates over the C- and L-bands, with cladding ytterbium absorption of 2.0 ±0.3 dB/m at 915 nm and peak core erbium absorption of 45 ±10 dB/m near 1535 nm. Nominal core NA is 0.17, and nominal cladding NA is 0.46. Nominal birefringence is 1.8 × 10–4.
