The high-speed EyeCon 2000 laser line sensor introduced by LMI Technologies Inc. enables system integrators to measure a wide surface area using a single Gigabit Ethernet connection. It operates at a profile rate of 4000 samples per second and, for lower-speed applications, it offers a line laser profile rate of 2 kHz. Binocular vision inspection enables observation of the target from two directions. Direct encoder input controls global synchronization to better than ±1 μs using the Gigabit Ethernet protocol. The “power over Ethernet” feature allows the sensor to be mounted up to 100 m away from the controller. The device employs proprietary FireSync sensor technology that allows system integrators to upload their custom bulge and dent detection algorithms, eliminating the need for external computer power.
