Using an innovative chip design, JDSU’s 6398-L4 fiber-coupled diode laser platform provides 10 W of output power in a compact package. The device operates in the 910- to 980-nm range through a 105-μm fiber at a numerical aperture of either 0.22 or 0.15. The telecom-grade laser is designed for fiber laser pumping, remote power generation, pyrotechnic ignition and materials processing.
