Eastman Kodak Co. has launched the KAI-04022 image sensor, a low-noise 4-megapixel interline transfer CCD for low-light scientific applications. The device includes a 2048 × 2048 array of 7.4-μm pixels and 15-fps readout speed. Fast line dump enables optimized region-of-interest imaging. A low-noise amplifier decreases sensor read noise by 25% as compared with the previous model.
