Coherent Inc. has launched the Avia 532-38, a diode-pumped solid-state laser. The device delivers more than 38 W of output at 532 nm with a 45-ns pulse width. It features M² <1.3 beam quality, high average power, PermAlign solder-bonding technology, Aluminum-free Active Area pump laser diodes, the Total Pulse Control software suite, a sealed water-cooled head and a compact air-cooled power supply. The laser is suitable for micromachining applications, including singulation of microelectronics packages, wafer scribing and edge isolation in solar cells.
