Object-sided telecentric lenses for noncontact metrology applications have been announced by Schneider Optics Inc. Weighing between 21.8 and 28.5 oz, they have a 0.1 NA, produce ultralow geometric distortions and maintain a constant magnification within the specified depth of field. They image only those features that are orthogonal to the lens, resulting in high measurement performance at the extremes of the field of view. Available in magnifications of 0.27×, 0.39×, 0.62× and 0.79×, they are designed to work with 2/3-in.-format CCD cameras. The 0.79× version also can accommodate 1-in.-format CCD cameras. All feature fully adjustable iris control and an integrated front thread to accept M72 × 0.75 filters. An optional lens mount facilitates precise positioning of the lens and locks it down for increased stability.
