VDS Vosskühler GmbH has introduced the 11-megapixel CCD-11000XR x-ray detector, which produces resolution of higher than 25 line pairs per millimeter at an active sensor area of 36 × 24 mm, with 4024 × 2680 pixels at 3 fps and, at 6 fps, 2012 × 1340 pixels with 2 × 2 binning. Integrated fiber optics protect the sensitive sensor and deliver an energy range of 30 to 150 kV. Because of the interline transfer sensor, the detector has no mechanical shutter and produces no distortion or shading. Dynamic range is higher than 60 dB with readout noise of <60 e. RS-644, Camera Link and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces are available for the 12-bit digital data. Applications include x-ray microscopy and diffractometry, microtomography, printed circuit board and semiconductor inspection, and spot size inspection of x-ray tubes.
