Zetex Semiconductors has developed a dedicated chip set and reference design for MR16-compatible LED lamps that decrease printed circuit board size and weight in lamp necks, that lower manufacturing costs, that optimize efficiency and that reduce component count by up to 50%. The integrated chip set handles all associated power rectification, LED current control and protection functions. It enhances LEDs’ reduced total cost of ownership over halogen reflector lamps.
