To simplify the setting up and control of Ethernet cameras, Imaging Development Systems (IDS) GmbH has announced its uEye Camera Manager. The device is configured automatically when it is connected to the network, and the IP address is assigned automatically, so no installation is required at the hardware level. The device sets the camera ID and the user string, and it displays the status of all connected cameras. A user-defined configuration mode also is provided. Included with all uEye cameras from version 3.10 onward, Camera Manager supports USB and Gigabit Ethernet models. Features of the cameras include 12- or 36-bit color depth, up to 100 full fps, a variable power supply of 6 to 24 V, adjustable mounting dimensions and a multiple input/output interface with an RS-232 interface.
