Power Technology Inc. has introduced high-power blue and violet laser diodes for use with its PM laser module, 405 nm at 60 mW. The diodes can be used in many applications that have employed argon-ion, helium-cadmium or blue Nd:YAG lasers, including fluorescence, confocal microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. The compact module is designed for use in standard or rugged OEM environments and contains a precision current source for applications that require durability and high output power. It offers diffraction-limited optical performance and operates on 8 V of direct current.
