Laser Energetics Inc. of Princeton, N.J., has received a contract valued at more than $480,000 for its BrightStar alexandrite laser. The contract is in support of the US Army’s initiative to develop a solid-state laser for the next generation of chemical warfare agent sensor technology. The company was selected by a government panel after an evaluation of 20 laser technologies from 18 companies.
