Cognex Corp. has unveiled the fixed-mount, image-based DataMan 100 ID readers, which incorporate lighting, a camera, a processor and communications in a 55 × 42 × 21.1-mm package. Capable of six sigma read rates at up to 45 parts per second, the readers incorporate algorithms to ensure continuously high read rates for 1- and 2-D symbologies in direct part mark and label-based identification applications in the packaging, pharmaceuticals, automotive parts, document handling and electronic components industries. The aimer, train and trigger button, beeper and LED indicator enable setup or job changeover without a computer. Capabilities are extended with lens accessories and adapters.
