Imaging Development Systems (IDS) GmbH has added two color cameras to its uEye series, both of which are equipped with a rolling shutter, a USB 2.0 port and a 1/3-in. CMOS sensor that offers light sensitivity that nearly equals that of comparable CCD sensor technology. The cameras are available with the standard metal housing with mini-B connectors or as a uEye RE version with sealed, screw-mounted connectors. They feature opto-decoupled output and trigger input, a C-mount lens connector and, optionally, internal memory. The UI-1640-C provides 1.3-megapixel resolution (1280 × 1024) and the UI-1550-C, 2-megapixel resolution (1600 × 1200). Software is provided.
