Photron Inc. has announced Phase II of its ultralight-sensitive high-speed Fastcam SA-1 imager. The camera delivers up to 5400 fps at full 1024 × 1024-pixel resolution and 675,000 fps at reduced resolution. It offers true 12-bit resolution for good color fidelity, microsecond global shuttering and interframe timing. It is DC-powered and has both SDI and RS-170 video outputs to facilitate integration. The compact CMOS camera offers 8-, 16- and 32-GB memory options and full control via Gigabit Ethernet; alternatively, remote control via the LCD keypad offers computer-free setup. The camera has a user-controlled variable region of interest and supports IRIG/GPS when precision time stamping and synchronization are required.
