Toptica Photonics AG has released the DL pro 780, a widely tunable and ultrastable single-frequency external cavity diode laser. It features an antireflection-coated diode and high intrinsic frequency stability. It provides an alignment-free coarse tuning range of 30 nm, optical output power up to 80 mW, a continuous mode-hop-free tuning range of >50 GHz and a narrow linewidth of ~500 kHz. The compact and stable external cavity resonator has its first grating resonance frequency above 3.5 kHz, reducing sensitivity to environmental acoustic noise. Applications include high-resolution laser spectroscopy, laser cooling and Bose-Einstein condensates, magnetometry and electromagnetically induced transparency.
