Amplitude Systèmes has introduced its Tangerine series high-power ultrafast diode-pumped fiber lasers that are available in 10-ps and <700-fs versions. The company says that the advantages of using the fiber as the amplifier medium are that beam guiding in the fiber core produces good spatial beam quality, and efficient heat dissipation through the fiber periphery delivers high average output power of 20 W. The lasers provide >10 μJ of pulse energy from a compact, stable and rugged package. The turnkey systems feature flexible control electronics and are suitable for ultrafast micro- and nanomachining, nonlinear optics, nanophotonics and life sciences applications.
