Matrox Imaging has released a new version of the Matrox Imaging Library application development tool kit for image analysis, machine vision and medical imaging. MIL 9.0 takes advantage of available high-performance graphics processor units (GPUs) and computing clusters, so that an MIL application can be distributed across several computers over a network and can be controlled remotely or in a master-slave configuration. This version can offload image processing functions to a GPU, and it supports 32-bit Windows Vista, 64-bit Windows XP and Vista, 32- and 64-bit Linux, and Windows CE 6.0. As an add-on, the Processing Pack 1 features multicore and multi-CPU speed optimizations, 3-D calibration and reconstruction tools, color analysis tools and an enhanced 1-D/2-D code verification tool that uses ISO/IEC standards.
