Catalyst Semiconductor Inc. has released the CAT3637, an addition to the Quad-Mode line of fractional charge pump LED drivers. The device drives up to six LEDs at 30 mA each, in 2-mA steps, and it offers power efficiency up to 92 percent. The company says that the driver offers 10 percent higher efficiency than three-mode charge pumps provide and that the fourth charge pump mode achieves 1.33× boost mode with two flying capacitors.
