Arcoptix SA has introduced the ArcSpectro-NIR super spectral spectrometer, a miniature Fourier transform device that measures from 500 to 2600 nm with resolution between 0.8 and 25 nm. It operates with a single silicon/InGaAs photodiode detector that produces low noise, and it uses a microelectromechanical systems actuator. Fiber-based, USB-powered and portable, the spectrometer is suitable for use in environmental monitoring, process control, food and beverage, textile, plastics and security applications. It has a 16-bit analog-to-digital converter and a Windows XP software interface. Wavelength accuracy is <0.5 nm, measurement time is 2.5 ms, sampling rate is 2 MHz, and operating temperature is from 10 to 30 °C.
