Microsphere Technology Ltd. has introduced the Isopheres-T seeding material for use in optical flow diagnostics applications, including particle image velocimetry and laser Doppler analysis. The chemically stable hollow glass microspheres are made of soda-lime-borosilicate glass and have a titanium dioxide coating that provides good light-scattering properties and controlled buoyancy that ensures that the particles stay in suspension longer than they do with conventional materials. Density is 80% between 0.8 and 1.2 g/cm
3, and size ranges from 5 to 20 μm.
