Lambda Research Corp. has released its TracePro 5.0 software for optical modeling, design and analysis. Features include enhanced light source modeling, which allows users to combine multiple light sources with various wavelength spectra into one model and to analyze numerous light source interactions in the same ray trace. The surface source property editor lets the user specify light source behavior dependent upon a specific wavelength, temperature and emission angle. Fluorescence emission wavelengths can be defined for each fluorescent object to enable more effective modeling and analysis of fluorescent dyes with varying emission spectra. A stand-alone light source property wizard that lets users import properties such as wavelength spectrum and radiation patterns from manufacturers’ data sheets is available.
