For assessment of transmission gratings, microdensitometry and microscopy applications,
Interferometric Optics has introduced the N-Slit laser interferometer. Based on multiple-prism beam expansion and digital detection, it enables rapid characterization of transmission optical surfaces, including crystalline, digitally inscribed imaging and molecular imaging types, and of arrays of microholes and micronozzles, of biomedical and organic molecular arrays, and of transmission gratings. Models with wavelengths of 543, 594 and 632 nm are available, all providing approximate nominal resolution of 10 μm and an approximate signal-to-noise ratio of 10
–7.
