MIT in Cambridge, Mass., and Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems of Freiburg, Germany, have signed an agreement to establish the MIT-Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems adjacent to the MIT campus. By developing technologies and materials for designing and producing improved solar modules, the research center over the next five years will focus on reducing the cost of solar energy.
