POLARIZATION-MAINTAINING FIBERS
View Company Profile for Nufern

For gyroscope and sensor applications,
Nufern has released a line of reduced-coating-diameter polarization-maintaining fibers. The coating diameter of the new Panda-style fibers has been reduced from 165 to 125 ±5 μm, neither compromising their birefringence nor increasing their bend-induced crosstalk. Nominal normalized crosstalk is ≤–25 dB at 100 m. Available with nominal operating wavelengths of 810 to 870 nm, 1280 to 1340 nm and 1520 to 1620 nm, the fibers have a clad diameter of 80 ±1 μm, a core-clad concentricity of <0.5 μm, a coating/clad offset of ≤5 μm and an operating temperature of –60 to 105 °C. They are coated with a UV-cured dual-acrylate material.
