Agilent Technologies Inc. has created an RGB laser combiner developer’s kit for use by projection systems designers. Based on proprietary complex monolithic optics designs, it provides stable alignment throughout a product’s lifetime because the optics are bonded together into a single prealigned structure and are immune to vibration and fluctuations when at ambient room temperature. Fewer open optical surfaces decrease environmental contamination that can cause on-screen interference. The kit can be used with digital light processing, and with liquid-crystal-on-silicon and LCD image panels. Color coordinates can be white-balanced, and the output lens can illuminate image panels of up to 2-in. diagonal.
