Crystal Systems Receives $250K for Crystal Growth Project

Crystal Systems Inc. of Salem, Mass., has received $250,000 from the French Institute de la Lumiere Extreme project. The funding will be used to scale up the heat exchange method process of crystal growth from 6 to 8 in. in diameter, for use in the company’s extreme-intensity Ti:Sa amplifier crystals. The company plans to introduce these crystals in 150- and 200-mm-diameter sizes.
