Corning Inc. of Corning, N.Y., has announced plans to expand its LCD glass substrate manufacturing facility in Taichung, Taiwan. The $453 million expenditure will provide greater manufacturing capabilities for a range of large-size substrates, with production scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2009 and the expansion expected to be completed by the end of that year.
