Qioptiq Group of Fairport, N.Y., a designer and manufacturer of optical solutions, has agreed to acquire Point Source Ltd. of Hamble, UK, a producer of lasers and fiber optic laser delivery systems for biotechnology and semiconductor manufacturing. The latter company says that the merger will open a range of international markets to its product lines.
