ProLite Xt Corvus high-brightness fiber-coupled diode laser bars have been announced by Spectra-Physics Lasers Div. Passively cooled, they deliver >35 W of output power from a 100-μm 0.22-NA fiber and support a wavelength range from 790 to 980 nm. Brightness is >3 MW/cm²-sr, suitable for fiber laser pumping. Other applications include direct materials processing, life and health sciences, and defense and security. The four models in the series offer maximum spectral width of either ≤5 or ≤7 nm FWHM and operate at either 45 or 55 A, depending upon the model. Threshold current for all is 10 A, with a maximum of ≤15 A. Operating temperature ranges from 15 to 30 °C.
