LASER DIODE CONTROLLER

The LDC501 laser diode controller unveiled by
Stanford Research Systems combines a low-noise 500-mA current source and an integrated 36-W temperature controller, making it suitable for a variety of laser diode experiments. Features include constant power/constant current mode switching, complete laser diode and thermoelectric cooler characterization, comprehensive laser diode protection, and GPIB, RS-232 and Ethernet interfaces. The device produces drift of <10 ppm/°C and offers bandwidth modulation of 1.1 MHz. It has a dedicated front panel display for parameter entry, and bright five-digit green LED displays constantly monitor current and temperature and can be read from anywhere in the laboratory. Laser diode protection features include slow start turn-on, adjustable current limits and compliance voltage, and fast clamping and shutdown.
