Power Technology Inc. has released a line of laser diode drivers that feature a choice of output voltage and current; an integrated enable feature; current-monitoring terminals; soft start for maximum laser protection; diode protection upon shutdown; reverse polarity protection; customer-adjustable bias and current limit setting through a series of binary dip switches; and a one-year warranty. The precision current sources are designed to meet the demands of high-power laser diode emitters, bars and arrays. They can drive single- or multifaceted laser diodes up to a compliance voltage of 9 V. Maximum operating current is 250, 1000 or 2500 mA, and current set resolution is 1, 4 or 10 mA, depending upon the model. All models operate in CW mode and offer photodiode feedback from 0.003 to 3.0 mA.
