Bookham Inc.’s BAC60C-808-01/02 laser diode bar on a microchannel cooler delivers 60 W of output power at 808 nm for solid-state laser pumping and for direct applications including materials processing, printing and medical. The 10 × 1.2-mm device features an E2 front mirror passivation process to prevent catastrophic optical damage to the laser diode facet. The single-quantum-well structure, expansion-matched submount and active water-cooled package offer high reliability in both CW and pulsed applications.
